About the Project
This building will provide homes for up to 16 families or individuals, with a mix of 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom apartments. The building will be energy-efficient, keeping apartments warm in winter and cool in summer. Some units will be fully accessible.
Location and Community
The site is along the driveway to Sunnybrook Manor, off Mill Village Road. The building will be close to Shubenacadie District Elementary School, seniors’ apartments, Shubie River Park, a local bank and a pharmacy.
What’s Next
Nova Scotia-based firm zzap Architecture and Planning is now working on initial designs. This work will confirm the number and size of units, the size and shape of the buildings, roads or driveways to the site and other design details.
A request for proposals to finalize designs will be issued this spring.
