About the Project
Dora Construction is building these apartments, with a mix of 1-, 2- and 3-bedrooms, on a fully serviced lot. The apartments include energy-efficient appliances, and a heat pump helps keep them warm in winter and cool in summer. The accessible entrance provides easier access to the building.
Location and Community
This apartment building is centrally located in Sackville, close to the downtown, shopping and other housing.
What’s Next
The week of July 16, the first three modules arrived at the new provincial housing development on Old Beaver Bank Road in Lower Sackville and were craned into place.
More modules will continue to arrive from Eastcut’s building facility in Trenton, coming together to form a 22-unit apartment building for Nova Scotia’s Provincial Housing Agency.
While Eastcut built these modules off-site, DORA’s team continued site preparation and foundation work in Lower Sackville. This approach allows construction to move forward at the site and in the manufacturing facility at the same time.
Build Nova Scotia is leading the construction project, with the Macklan Group as the delivery partner. Once construction is complete, the Nova Scotia Provincial Housing Agency will take ownership and welcome families into the new homes.
This is an example of how the public and private sectors are working together, in design, manufacturing, and construction, to deliver housing for Nova Scotians.
Construction will be complete this fall. The transformer from Nova Scotia Power to power the building is expected in Spring 2027, when the building will be ready for tenants.
